
Glomerulonephritis encompasses a group of inflammatory kidney diseases characterised by glomerular injury, presenting as haematuria, proteinuria, hypertension, and progressive renal impairment. IgA nephropathy is the most common primary glomerulonephritis globally; recent approvals of targeted-release budesonide and sparsentan have marked a new era of disease-specific treatment. Complement pathway inhibitors and B-cell-targeted therapies are among the most active development programmes.
