Disease Area

oral cancer

Oral cavity cancers, predominantly squamous cell carcinomas of the tongue, floor of mouth, and buccal mucosa, have distinct risk factors and prognosis from oropharyngeal HPV-associated cancers. Surgery with adjuvant therapy is the standard for resectable disease; systemic therapy options in recurrent/metastatic disease are expanding with immunotherapy. Early detection through oral cancer screening and awareness remains critical to improving outcomes.
