Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis, a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease affecting approximately 2–3% of the global population. Biologics targeting IL-17, IL-23, and TNF have transformed outcomes for moderate-to-severe disease, with high rates of skin clearance now achievable. Oral TYK2 inhibitors represent the newest mechanism and the first oral targeted therapy to achieve PASI 90 response rates comparable to biologics.
